SPB.N NEWS – Online Desk: A motorcycle hit the car of Barrister Tureen Afroz, a senior prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), on Rangpur-Bogra Highway in Palashbari upazila on Monday.
Police arrested biker Rana Islam, 14, a Class-IX student of Bengulia High School and son of Nurul Islam of Jaitorbala village in the upazila, on charge of attacking Tureen Afroz.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Palashbari Police Station M Mojibur Rahman said Tureen was returning to Dhaka from her village home at Kewra Bangni of Jaldhaka upazila in Nilphamari by the car after the burial of her father Taslim Uddin.
When the car reached near Al Nur Hotel in Dakkhin Bandar area of Palashbari upazila headquarters around 3pm, a motorcycle heading towards the Rangpur-Bogra Highway from a lane crashed into her car, said the OC.
Biker Rana was injured in the accident and his motorbike got damaged following the collision.
However, Tureen escaped the accident unhurt although her car was slightly damaged.
On information, a police team rushed in and arrested the injured schoolboy along with his motorbike.
However, Rana’s co-motorcyclist Russell managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of police, said the OC.
Contacted, Tureen Afroz told UNB over mobile phone that her car came under attack to harm her.
